Mr. Christian Hannon, USPTO
Christian Hannon serves as a Patent Attorney with the United States Patent and Trademark Office’s Office of Policy and International Affairs (OPIA). Mr. Hannon’s portfolio encompasses standard-essential patent issues, patent subject matter eligibility issues, policy issues relating to artificial intelligence, and policy issues relating to plant inventions. Prior to joining OPIA, Mr. Hannon has held various roles in the USPTO including the Office of the Under Secretary and Director, the Office of the Solicitor, and Patent Operations.

Ms. Michele Herman, JusTech Law
Michele Herman is the founder of JusTech Law. Her practice focuses exclusively on legal and business issues affecting technology development and commercialization such as technology standards, open source software, and intellectual property transactions. Michele has substantial experience negotiating patent licenses as well as intellectual rights policies for SDOs. Michele’s standards practice began in the 1990s when she launched and led Microsoft’s standards team. Michele holds numerous leadership positions in several IP associations. She writes and speaks often on topics related to standards, open source, and IP transactions. Michele has served as an expert witness in SEP litigation and is a certified mediator.
