Hi -
Names should be assigned on a first come, first
served basis only, period. After that we already
existing institutions to handle disputes.
If this bothers you perhaps you should not be
encouraging the entire world to stuff itself in
to just one top level (.COM) domain and instead
be working to create many more non-country-
specific top level domains such as would be
useful for international commercial entities.
Since your proposal is so tilted towards big
businesses I'm shocked you haven't spent any
effort in this area. But even now it's not
too late to do the right thing - hopefully you
will.
Furthermore I see no considerations regarding
the privacy of information and data you may
gather as a result of this process - you may be
able to get away with that in the USA but I'd
expect the European Community to find your
proposal unacceptable on this basis alone.
