WIPO IP Toolkit for Academic Institutions
June 8, 2018
At an event on April 13, 2018, WIPO released its new Intellectual Property (IP) Toolkit for Academic Institutions. Sponsorship from Australia FIT/IP supported the development of the Toolkit.
The IP Toolkit is a “one-stop shop” for academic and research institutions seeking guidance on how to shape and implement their institutional IP policies. It was created thanks to the collaborative efforts of 18 external experts and WIPO.
Australia FIT/IP sponsored the development of Volume II of the Toolkit, which relates to IP commercialization and contains:
- the academic intellectual assets map,
- models of agreements, and
- hypothetical cases.
Launch event
The launch event took place at WIPO Headquarters in Geneva. Presentations from WIPO colleagues regarding the content and implementation of the Toolkit were delivered to around 50 representatives of 45 member states based in Permanent Missions in Geneva.
The presentations were followed by a dynamic, interactive discussion.
