More on the event

The Workshop addressed gaps in the development and implementation of copyright systems in the region. With the objective of supporting copyright administrations, the meeting focused on raising awareness among policy makers and stakeholders of the relevance of copyright, as well as on identifying the needs for establishing/enhancing national copyright systems able to promote cultural, social and economic development.

This event and other capacity building programs held in the region have contributed to an enhanced understanding of the role of copyright in promoting and protecting local/national creativity and to an improved capacity in policy making.

Officials in charge of policy making and administration from the region formed the target audience of the Workshop, including representatives from the Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, Niue, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, the Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.
