The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), in collaboration with the African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO) held a regional meeting on March 14 and 15, 2022 with support from the Japan Patent Office.
The objective of this meeting was to strengthen the sub-regional TISC network among ARIPO member states as a means for fostering exchange of experiences and best practices, for sharing resources within the region and to build skills and knowledge on patent search as a foundation for South-South cooperation in capacity development.
TISC focal points of the ARIPO member states exchanged information about their activities and discussed their efforts and experiences in order to strengthen their TISC networks and dissemination of IP information. They also shared their ongoing challenges in dealing with the constraints imposed by the current health situation. WIPO provided information on its recent developments in its activities and resources related to TISCs and technology transfer.
