Online courses in IP were held by the Osaka Institute of Technology (OIT) in Japan from May 12 to July 29, 2022.
The World Intellectual Property Organization, in association with the Japan Patent Office, provided an opportunity to study intellectual property (IP) and its related laws. As part of the Enabling Innovation Environment (EIE) Project, fifteen trainees from Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Sri Lanka and Viet Nam participated in online training courses supported by the Funds-In-Trust (FIT) Japan Industrial Property Global.
Participants learned basic knowledge about both the international IP system and Japan’s own IP system through the course, including IP commercialization, IP strategies, IP marketing, IP assessments and IP licensing. Following this experience, the trainees will now take the knowledge and experience they have gained back to their home universities and institutions to share their learnings with colleagues.
