The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) published French and Spanish Translation of WIPO Patent Drafting Manual (Second edition) on March 2024
This project aims to increase the availability of high-quality learning materials on patent drafting and ultimately improve access to those to skilled patent drafters around the world.
Having comprehensive, user-friendly learning materials on drafting patents is critical for countries where there is still a lack of professionals who can draft competitive, high-quality patents. The WIPO Patent Drafting Manual (hereinafter “Manual”) serves an important reference to improve patent quality. It is publicly available on WIPO’s website and serves as the textbook for WIPO´s patent drafting training programs.
The second edition of the WIPO Patent Drafting Manual was published in English in 2022. To increase the impact of the new addition, the manual was translated and published in French and Spanish with the support of FIT Japan.
