Date: June 14, 2021

On June 14, 2021, the French National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) notified the International Bureau in accordance with paragraphs 10 and 12 of the Framework Provisions for the DAS for Priority Documents, that it would extend the scope of its participation to include trademarks and industrial designs with effect from July 1, 2021.

Technical and operational options adopted by INPI France are:

  • INPI France as a depositing Office will deposit certified copies of trademark and industrial design applications as priority documents filed at INPI France on and after the July 5, 2021, which the applicant specifically requests be made available to the service;
  • All documents and information will be exchanged in black and white or color and in PDF format through the WIPO DAS Office web portal

The following practical information may be useful to applicants:

  • A request to make an application available through the service may be made by using the intended Request Form, available from INPI’s website https://www.inpi.fr/fr/services-et-prestations-domaine/copies-officielles
  • The national industrial design applications hosted in INPI’s digital library use the respective number formats: YYYYNNNN
  • The national trademark applications hosted in INPI’s digital library use the number format YYNNNNNNN

The French National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI) notified the International Bureau in accordance with paragraphs 10 and 12 of the Framework Provisions for the WIPO Digital Access Service (DAS) that INPI would commence operation as a depositing Office of WIPO DAS with effect from December 1, 2020.

Technical arrangements

Technical and operational options adopted by INPI are:

  • INPI as a depositing Office will deposit certified copies of patent and utility model applications as priority documents, including PCT applications filed at their Office on and after October 1, 2019, which the applicant specifically requests be made available to the service.
  • All documents and information will be exchanged in greyscale or color and in PDF format through the WIPO DAS Office web portal and based on WIPO PCT-EDI.

The following practical information may be useful to applicants:

  • The national and international applications hosted in the Institute’s digital library use the respective number formats FR YYNNNNN and PCT / FRYYYY / NNNNNN.
