Notifications

The China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) notified the International Bureau, in accordance with paragraphs 10 and 12 of the Framework Provisions of the Digital Access Service (DAS), that it would extend the scope of its operation as an accessing office in the WIPO DAS to Hague International applications.


Date: April 15, 2013

In accordance with paragraphs 10 and 12 of the modified Framework Provisions that came into effect on July 1, 2012, the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) notified that it would start DAS 2.0 operation from April 15, 2013, date from which it will be possible for CNIPA to deposit and retrieve priority documents according to the 'New Route'.

Technical and operational options adopted by the CNIPA as of April 15, 2013, are:

  • Communications between the CNIPA and the International Bureau (IB) will be based on Trilateral Document Access (TDA) 1.7.3 Specifications.
  • The CNIPA as a depositing Office will deposit certified copies of patent, utility model and industrial design applications as priority documents via DAS, including PCT applications filed to the CNIPA as the receiving Office.
  • The CNIPA as an accessing Office will retrieve certified copies of patent, utility model, industrial design and PCT applications that can be deposited in DAS by the corresponding depositing Offices, as priority documents for patent, utility model and industrial design applications
  • The CNIPA will accept priority documents in color or grayscale as deposited by depositing Offices.
