Riyadh, the capital city of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, will host the Diplomatic Conference to Conclude and Adopt a Design Law Treaty, from November 11 to 22, 2024. The Diplomatic Conference represents the final-stage treaty negotiation.
This decision by WIPO Member States on the venue for the Diplomatic Conference was preceded by a Special Session of the Standing Committee on the Law of Trademarks, Industrial Designs and Geographical Indications from October 2 to October 6, 2023.
The future treaty aims to streamline the global system for protecting industrial designs, making it easier, faster and more affordable for designers to protect their work in home markets as well as overseas.
