Hague System – Managing Registrations
Once you have obtained an international design registration, it's important to keep it up-to-date. You may need, for example, to make changes relating to ownership, to appoint or cancel a representative, or renounce an international registration, etc.
You can centrally manage all aspects of your international registration directly through WIPO – in some or all designated contracting parties, and for some or all of the designs covered.
You MUST notify us of any changes in your contact details.
- For changes to email addresses only (applicants, holders and representatives) use Contact Hague. This service is free-of-charge. Reminder: WIPO does not share email addresses with any third party.
- For changes to postal addresses of holders, use Hague System form DM/6 and provide all international registration numbers concerned. You can upload your completed form(s) through our Hague System Document Upload service available via Contact Hague. Note: to use this service, you need to have a WIPO Account.
- For changes to postal addresses of appointed representatives, use eHague.
For changes to postal addresses of applicants prior to international registration, use Contact Hague and provide the international application number.
What aspects of your registration can you manage online?
You can:
- Appoint a representative (holders only)
- Request changes to the name and/or contact details of an existing representative (representatives only)
- Cancel a representative
- Renew your registration (all or some of the designs included, in as many of the designated contracting parties as you wish)
- Check the status of your requests
What aspects of your registration should you still manage using Hague System forms?
Change holder name/address
To request a change in name and/or address of the holder, complete form DM/6. A fee of 144 Swiss francs (CHF) applies for one international registration; 72 Swiss francs for each additional registration. 
Transfer rights
To request a change in ownership, complete form DM/2. A fee of 144 Swiss francs applies per international registration.
Limit protection
Limitation allows the holder to abandon protection for some of the designs in the international registration in respect of some or all of the designated contracting parties. To request limitation, complete form DM/3. A fee of 144 Swiss francs applies per international registration.
Renounce protection
Renunciation allows the holder to abandon protection for all of the designs in the international registration in respect of some or all of the designated contracting parties. To request renunciation, complete form DM/5. A fee of 144 Swiss francs (CHF) applies per international registration.
