The World IP Day 2025 Youth Video Competition celebrates the role that music and intellectual property (IP) rights play in our lives. The Competition invites individuals or group participants to submit a 60 to 90-second video that captures the connection between music, IP rights, innovation, and creativity that's shaping our future.
The theme of the Competition is “Tuning in with the music of innovation and creativity”. Think about how IP rights enable innovation and creativity in music. How do IP rights support creators, inventors, and entrepreneurs in the music industry? How is innovation shaping the future of music? Get creative and tune in with the music of innovation and creativity to win great prizes!

The World Intellectual Property Day 2025 Youth Video Competition Jury reviewed the entries to ensure they fell within the scope of the rules of the competition and after lengthy discussions, came up with a shortlist of 20 entries and three winners.
The top 20 short-listed video entries were submitted to an online public vote from April 4 to 14, and more than XXXXX votes were cast by XXXXX people (each user was able to cast up to 5 votes) choosing their favorite video entry to win the People’s Choice Prize.

Meet the winners of the World IP Day 2025 Youth Vide Competition!
In early 2025, we called on people around the world to submit a 60 to 90-second video that showcases how an inventor, creator, entrepreneur, or local community near you is making a difference with their innovation, creativity and intellectual property (IP) rights in music.
Under the theme “Tuning in with the music of innovation and creativity”, participants from XX countries submitted more than XX entries. The World Intellectual Property Day 2025 Youth Video Competition Jury reviewed the entries to ensure they fell within the scope of the rules of the competition and after lengthy discussions, came up with a shortlist of 20 entries and three winners.
The top 20 short-listed video entries were submitted to an online public vote from April 4 to 14, and more than XXXXX votes were cast by XXXXX people (each user was able to cast up to 5 votes) choosing their favorite video entry to win the People’s Choice Prize.
The winning entries hail from COUNTRY 1, COUNTRY 2, COUNTRY 3 and COUNTRY 4. They captured innovative and inspiring stories of inventors, creators, entrepreneurs, and local communities around the world whose innovations, creativity and use of IP rights power the music that moves us.

Frequently Asked Questions of the Competition
Entries can be submitted by individuals or groups of individuals. You may enter one individual entry, or you may join with your friends and submit a group entry, but you cannot do both.
Individual entries must be submitted by individuals aged between 18 and 35 years old at the time application is submitted.
Group entries may include up to 10 participants, with at least one member being no older than 35 years old at the time the application is submitted.

We’re looking for videos that highlight how innovation, creativity, and IP rights are shaping a better future for creators, inventors and entrepreneurs worldwide. Videos may focus on one or more of the following themes:
- Rhythm that inspires: Illustrate how music, creativity, and innovation can transform lives, foster connections, and inspire new possibilities.
- Changemakers: Highlight how artists, musicians, tech innovators, or young entrepreneurs in local communities are leveraging creativity and innovation to shape the future of music and create a global impact.
- Voices for IP: Share stories of individuals advocating for IP rights in the music world, emphasizing how IP rights empower creators, artists, and entrepreneurs to build sustainable careers in the music industry.
- Your video is in MP4 format and is between 60-90 seconds long.
- Your video does not contain any subtitles or captions.
- Your video may include audio narrative in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, or Spanish.
- Your video has not been published previously online, nor recognized and/or won an award in another competition.
- If your video features background music, you must supply proof of authorization to use such recordings.
- Your video must not violate any copyright, trademarks, patents, trade secrets, industrial designs, distinctive signs, contractual obligations, or any other IP rights, or other proprietary rights of any third party.

The World IP Day 2025 Youth Video Competition Jury will review all entries to select a shortlist of the top 20 entries. The Jury will then identify the top three winning videos in line with established judging criteria.
Videos will be judged according to their adherence to the theme, expression of theme, originality, creativity, messaging and visual appeal, among others.
The short-listed 20 videos will also be submitted to an online public vote to identify the winner of the People’s Choice Prize. This prize will be awarded to the entry that receives the highest number of votes in the online public vote.
The public vote will be open from April 4 to 14, 2025, 23:59 CEST. Each person voting may cast up to five votes to indicate which entries they prefer.
The winners will be announced on the Competition web page on April 25 and will be promoted via other relevant digital platforms. All decisions of WIPO and the World IP Day 2025 Youth Video Competition Jury are final.
