eMadrid – Paving the Way Towards a Fully Integrated Platform
January 23, 2024
Filing and managing international trademark registrations keeps getting easier!
Continuing to improve your online experience with us, we have just released a redesigned and restructured eMadrid homepage. This new approach, which includes three new action-oriented webpages – File an application | Manage your trademarks | Find & Monitor – ensures that you have all the necessary Madrid System tools and supporting resources directly on hand whether you are filing an application for, or managing your, international trademark registration.
The changes that we have made – triggered by valuable customer feedback and validated by our Madrid System user group – are also paving the path towards what will become your fully integrated digital eMadrid platform.
What’s changed?
If you are familiar with eMadrid, you will notice that we have not changed the order of display of the online services that are available to manage your international trademark registrations. We have however introduced several new features and options to make things easier for you.
Enhanced navigation and new interfaces
We’ve introduced a new tab navigation bar letting you navigate to and between three new action-oriented webpages – File an application | Manage your trademarks | Find & Monitor.
Each of these three new pages contains:
- all the online tools that you need to complete your transaction(s);
- all the supporting resources that you might need along the way; and
- a ‘Need help’ section to ensure that you can quickly contact us if you need assistance.
Tip! You can easily navigate back to the new eMadrid homepage from within any eMadrid tool or resource, using the crumb trail.
New features
We’ve introduced new features to streamline your journey and ensure that you can perform any action through this one access point.
Reply to irregularity letters
A section “Need to reply to an irregularity letter?” – with a handy tip on where to find your WIPO reference number! – on the ‘File an Application’ page, sends you straight to the appropriate section of Contact us from where you can simply enter your reference number, add any message and directly upload your response.
Pay fees
We’ve added an option “Pay fees” to the list of transactional tools included on the ‘Manage your trademarks’ page, so that you can easily access our online payment service at any time.
Access your portfolio
By popular request we’ve reintroduced “Access your Portfolio” on the ‘Manage your Trademarks’ page, providing you with access to the “Madrid Portfolio Manager” containing all your active and inactive international trademark registrations.
Important! We will phase out this legacy tool when we release the fully integrated eMadrid platform.
Upload Madrid System forms
We’ve added a section ‘More actions…’ to the ‘Manage your Trademarks’ page providing you with a list of the few remaining actions for which you need to use a downloadable form. And, we’ve added an “Upload” button taking you straight to our document upload service so that you can quickly send us your completed forms!
Explore goods and services
We’ve added links to WIPO’s new tool, the “Global G&S Terms Explorer”, to both the ‘File an Application’ and ‘Manage your Trademarks’ pages. You can use this tool to find out how many times over the last ten years, major Intellectual Property Offices have accepted specific terms – in different languages – relating to goods and services.
