From October 4 to 5, 2024, the Algerian Higher School of Business (ESAA) hosted its third training session as part of the Moubadar>art program. This initiative is the fruit of a partnership between the Algerian Ministry of Culture and the Arts, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the Algerian National Copyright and Related Rights Office (ONDA) and ESAA, and is designed to promote the creative and cultural industries sector in Algeria.

Goals of the third bootcamp

This in-depth two-day program was designed to meet the specific needs of the Moubadar>art program beneficiaries. The topics covered were carefully chosen to provide them with practical tools to thrive in Algeria’s creative and cultural industries.

The training has enabled participants to make major breakthroughs in their projects. They have acquired skills that will help them to shape their proposals in line with modern business practices, develop viable business models and devise economic strategies tailored to the creative and cultural industries in Algeria.

The goal of this third bootcamp was to build on support given to aspiring actors in the country’s creative and cultural industries and to further develop their practical skills, particularly concerning:

  • the legal aspects of intellectual property (IP)
  • modern marketing strategies tailored to the creative industries
  • challenges in promoting Algeria's cultural heritage

Online sessions

In addition to this third intensive in-person training session, participants benefited from online tailored coaching sessions. The latter allowed participants to delve deeper into specific topics relating to the creative industries, such as how to develop a modern marketing strategy, implementing a balanced business model and, more generally, deepening their IP knowledge.

This hybrid format guarantees flexible learning and allows participants to interact with specialists and to explore issues that will optimize their action plans as they prepare to launch their projects.

A bright future for the creative and cultural industries in Algeria

Following three bootcamps and online sessions, the project leaders who participated in the Moubadar>art program are now better equipped to develop their projects.
The knowledge and skills acquired during the intensive training courses have given them the tools to thrive in this ever-changing sector.

Moubadar>art clearly exemplifies the willingness of the partners involved to further boost the cultural and creative industries in Algeria.

The Moubadar>art program is part of the WIPO IP Management Clinic for SMEs Program.
