Increasing Use of the Hague System by Building Awareness in Asia-Pacific

December 9, 2020

The WIPO Singapore Office had the pleasure to moderate the webinar on protecting designs internationally for members of The Hague System in the Asia-Pacific. What was really pleasing was the diversity of the audience with Mongolia and Samoa providing a significant number of the 45+ attendees.

This interest from two developing countries is understandable as industrial designs often represents a far more viable way to innovate, protect and commercialize creativity compared to attempting to invent new technology and protect it with a patent.

The webinar was delivered under the WIPO – Government of Singapore MoU through the Singapore Cooperation Programme. Colleagues from the Hague Registry in Geneva also delivered some insightful presentations.
