WSO Joins Malaysian World IP Day Celebrations

IP & SMEs: Taking Your Idea To Market was the theme of a World IP Day webinar organized by the Malaysian IP Office (MyIPO).  Over 100 small business owners joined the session that featured presentations from MyIPO, a Malaysian inventor, the President of the Innovation and Technology Managers Association of Malaysia and the WIPO Singapore Office (WSO).

The WSO spoke on the importance of IP to all SMEs, stressing the key role branding plays in in business success. Also highlighted were the benefits of using WIPO’s Madrid System when seeking protection of a brand outside of Malaysia

Audience members were highly engaged with a multitude of questions on various aspects of the international trademark system including the language requirements, search functionality within the Global Brand Database, the cost of services such as the Madrid Monitor and the requirements for marks with characters other than Latin characters.

The WSO involvement continues the excellent collaboration that exists with MyIPO.
