Helping Brand Owners in the Philippines

Take the time to invest in your brand was one of the key messages that came out of a webinar organized for brand owners and their advisors as part of IP Month/World IP Day celebrations in the Philippines.

The WIPO Singapore Office (WSO) joined expert speakers discussing some of the tools WIPO has made available to help applicants use the Madrid System more effectively.  Further topics covered by other speakers included IP enforcement issues in the Philippines, overcoming oppositions and provisional refusals in major markets, and how to strategically deal with IP infringement.

The webinar was organized by the WSO in cooperation with the Documentation, Information and Technology Transfer Bureau of the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL). Director General of IPOPHL, Atty. Rowel S. Barba, delivered the opening remarks and highlighted the important role IP plays for all SMEs and how important SMEs are to the Philippine economy.
