Hague System Seminar: Online Services and International Registration Procedures and Practical Approach to the Hague System

May 7, 2019

Register online now to attend a Hague Seminar at WIPO Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, on June 6, 2019.  The Seminar will focus on maximizing the benefits of recent practical developments in the Hague Registry, including the new E-Filing interface, enhanced self-service electronic tools, and the ongoing geographical expansion.

The Seminar will be focused on the recent practical developments of the Hague Registry, in particular, the ongoing modernization and improvement of e-tools, including a detailed introduction to the new design of the E-Filing interface.  This new design represents the most significant change to the E-Filing system over the past five years.  The Seminar is therefore a good opportunity to become familiar with the improvements and new features that are advantageous to Hague System users, such as new payment methods and a simpler application screen.

The Seminar will also present enhanced self-service features brought by new information tools – such as the “Contact Hague Service” and the “Hague Document Upload Service” – and the new functionalities of the Hague webpage, such as the “Hague Member Profiles Database”.  The ongoing geographical expansion of the Hague System will also be a focus of the day, in particular, the specificities for designations of Canada, Japan, the Republic of Korea, the Russian Federation and the United States of America.

In the afternoon session, the Seminar will provide users with an interactive exercise to put into practice the tips learned in the morning session and use the new E-Filing interface to make an application designating the aforementioned Contracting Parties.

A Practitioner in the field of industrial design will share his view and practical experience on successful filing strategies as well as the advantages of the Hague System for SMEs and multinationals.  You will have the opportunity to interact with Hague Registry experts and the invited speaker, as well as to seek advice, share opinions, experiences and ideas.

The Seminar will be in English.  The sessions will be led by various WIPO experts, with the participation of one IP practitioner.
