IAP Highlighted at the 9th World Congress of Scientific Youth

December 5, 2018

The Inventor Assistance Program (IAP) was presented during the 9th World Congress of Scientific Youth – a forum aimed at bringing together professionals, students and researchers. The event took place in Santiago del Chile, Chile on November 15 to 19, 2018 and was organized by the International Federation of Scientific Societies (FISS) and the University of Santiago del Chile.

The Congress was a great opportunity for researchers from all over the world to share the results of their work.  Scientist, Ms. Ana Maria Cetto (Mexico), who has twice worked for Nobel-prize-winning organizations, and former NASA astronaut, Ms. Ellen Baker (USA), both took part in the event.

Ms. Giulia Ragonesi, Associate Legal Officer at WIPO, explained the benefits of the patent system in order to raise awareness of the opportunities it offers, especially to those who create intangible assets.  She also discussed how the IAP helps under-resourced inventors protect their innovations by connecting them with patent experts in their own countries and around the world.
