Independent Review of Implementation of DA Recommendations - Chair’s Draft Terms of Reference

The Committee on Development and Intellectual Property (CDIP), in its twelfth session held in November 2013, discussed the Independent Review of the Implementation of the Development Agenda Recommendations as requested in the Coordination Mechanisms and Monitoring, Assessing and Reporting Modalities (WO/GA/39/7, Annex II). The CDIP requested the Chair to “prepare draft Terms of Reference based on the consensus achieved during the informal negotiations held during the twelfth session, the comments received, and the Secretariat’s input on budget and timeline.

By a way of communication, the Secretariat received the following:

African Group and Development Agenda Group Joint Proposa for Terms of Reference for the Independent Review of the Implementation of the Development Agenda Recommendations; and

Comments by Group B Comments on Terms of Reference for an Independent Review of WIPO’s Implementation of the Development Agenda Recommendations.

Taking into account the above-mentioned comments and proposal, the Vice-Chair of the CDIP, Ms. Ekaterine Egutia, under the guidance of the Chair of the Committee, H.E. Mr. Mohamed Siad Doualeh, has provided the following draft Terms of Reference for the Independent Review of the Implementation of the Development Agenda Recommendations for its consideration at the informal session scheduled for April 24, 2014.
