WIPO Hosts Series of Webinars on Technical Assistance and Capacity Building

Intellectual property (IP) can be a powerful catalyst for inclusive and sustainable development. To this end, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) will host a Technical Assistance and Capacity Building Webinar Series in 2025, following a successful series in 2024.
The 2025 series kicks off with two webinars that will offer new insights and tools for delivering more impactful technical assistance and capacity-building initiatives around the world.
Last year, the series attracted around 900 participants from 116 countries. This diverse audience reflects WIPO’s continued efforts to foster inclusive dialogue and collaboration across national, regional, and international contexts.
The upcoming webinars will further deepen the conversation by focusing on how to maximize and measure impact in technical assistance programs:
Webinar I: Maximizing Impact: Strategic Planning for Technical Assistance and Capacity Building (Thursday, April 3, 2025)
In this webinar featuring presentations, a panel discussion and a Q&A session, participants will gain:
- Practical guidance on how strategic planningenhances the delivery and effectiveness of technical assistance and capacity-building programs.
- Insights from diverse perspectives and case studies.
- A chance to engage with a panel of experts and participate in a live Q&A session.
The second webinar, scheduled for later this year, will address “Quantifying Impact: Strategies for Monitoring and Evaluating Technical Assistance and Capacity Building”.
The webinars are free of charge and open to participation by all. They will be held in English and interpretation provided in French and Spanish.

This series of free webinars on Technical Assistance and Capacity Building is organized following a decision made by the Committee on Development and Intellectual Property (CDIP). Previous webinars in the series explored success factors and lessons learned for technical assistance and capacity building and advantages and limitations of virtual technical assistance and capacity building.
