Main Findings
About three in four Chinese are aware of copyright: in 2008, 71.5% of respondents reported having heard of “copyright”, compared to 71.3% in 2007.
Copyright awareness was highest in Eastern China with 78.3%. Urban residents were more likely to be aware of copyright (with 86.1% of them having heard of copyright) than the rural population (with 61.8% awareness).
