IP training and skills-building programs

Our six training programs cover a rich portfolio of both general and specialized courses on IP delivered through a combination of face-to-face and distance learning methodologies. All WIPO Academy offerings are taught by IP experts.
The WIPO Academy course catalog outlines the content of each course and program, which can have specific application procedures, all of which are outlined in our eLearning Center online course catalog as well as in our PDF course catalog [PDF].

How do we deliver our intellectual property training programs?

Our online programs in intellectual property law are delivered through a modern eLearning platform called the WIPO eLearning Center.

Projects for supporting IP capacity building

As a key tool for development, the Academy has close links with the Committee on Development and Intellectual Property (CDIP), and has completed a number of CDIP projects, aimed at further supporting IP capacity building. The Academy also runs other projects in the framework of the Build Back Fund to help member states with their post pandemic economic recovery.

Continuing judicial IP education

Cooperating with judicial institutions to enable them to provide practical IP training developed by judges for judges. The support also includes tailor-made continuing education and training on IP for members of the judiciary featuring national laws and landmark court decisions on IP.

IP training program for diplomats and trade officials

Agnes May Bonafe

“My advice is to pursue a crosscutting discipline such as intellectual property and business, as it allows you to learn about different topics at the same time and it increases your employability in different fields in the future.”

Agnes May Bonafe, WIPO Academy Alumna
Mohsin Ali

“I strongly believe that WIPO-Tongji University Master’s in IP is a great opportunity to learn and explore new regimes of IP and technology commercialization at the international level. As a result of this program, I have not only built a very strong network with individuals from different parts of the world, but also developed a strong professional profile in the areas of IP, innovation and technology transfer.”

Mohsin Ali, WIPO Academy Alumnus
Piotr Luczak

“Start practicing law as early as possible. Studies are one thing, and practical experience is something else. This way you can quickly find out whether your idea of the job actually matches reality. Don’t get discouraged with failure either. With enough perseverance and efforts, you will make it in the end.”

Piotr Łuczak, WIPO Academy Alumnus
Priscilla Kolibea Mante

“I am sharing the good word of IP, because by sharing the knowledge, it prevents me from forgetting it.”

Priscilla Kolibea Mante, WIPO Academy Alumna
