What is the IP Panorama?

The IP Panorama 2.0 is a 20 hour course that features a modernized and restructured version of the original course content, whereby a greater emphasis is placed on the application of knowledge and the practice steps needed to use intellectual property (IP) to leverage the commercial value of a business. The IP Panorama 2.0 course speaks to a wider target audience that includes small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), entrepreneurs, senior students, and young professionals seeking knowledge and skills on how to use and manage IP for business success. The original course content has been reduced to bite-sized educational segments that are delivered in an interactive and mobile-friendly format, focusing on practical topics such as:

  • The relevance of IP and IP rights (IPRs) to a business;
  • Different forms of IP and IPRs;
  • Formulating your IP strategy; and
  • Growing and scaling business through on-going IP management and utilization.

The course was first launched in 2007 by the WIPO Academy, KIPO and KIPA to address IP from a business, rather than the traditional legal, perspective. Registration for the IP Panorama 2.0 is now open for the open access version of the course in English on the WIPO eLearning Center.
