Mr. Guido Strack, a national of Germany, is administrator at European Commission. He is working in the Research and Development Unit of Eurostat dealing with statistics on high-technology manufacturing and knowledge intensive services, GBAORD and HRST. He also is responsible for patent statistics at Eurostat, which currently cover EPO applications on national and regional level and USPTO grants on national level but are going to be extended in the near future. His latest publication in the field of patent statistics was a Statistics in Focus on the «Increase of patent applications to the EPO in the ICT sector between 1991 and 2001».
Prior to working at Eurostat Mr. Strack dealt with CORDIS and the EU-law consolidation project. Mr. Strack has two law degrees, studied political sciences and - before joining the European Commission - worked for the German Federal Ministry of Economics.
