Alfonso Gambardella is Professor of Economics and Management at the Bocconi University, Milan. A leading scholar in economics and management of technology and innovation, he published on the major international journals in this field, participated in several international research projects, and his work is widely cited. In 2001 he co-authored Markets for Technology: The Economics of Innovation and Corporate Strategy, MIT Press, with Ashish Arora and Andrea Fosfuri. In 2004 he edited Building High-Tech Clusters (with Tim Bresnahan), Cambridge University Press, and in 2005 he edited From Underdogs to Tigers: The Rise and Growth of the Software Industry in Some Emerging Economies (with Ashish Arora), Oxford University Press.
