Chief Economist
European Patent Office
Dominique Guellec is chief economist at the European Patent Office. He informs EPO policy for economic related matters and conducts studies on economic aspects of patenting in Europe.
Until December 2003 he was Senior Economist at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). He was responsible for the science and technology indicators unit, which sets methodologies, harmonises and publishes S&T statistics from 30 industrialised countries: regarding notably R&D, human resources, innovation and patents. He has contributed to various OECD studies regarding technological change and economic growth and published various books and academic articles on the economics of growth, innovation and patenting.
