National Science Foundation
Lawrence Rausch is a Senior Analyst in the National Science Foundation's Directorate for Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences, Division of Science Resources Statistics. At NSF he is responsible for the development of metrics of technology development, competitiveness, and innovation.
He is a contributing author to the National Science Board's Science & Engineering Indicators report, writing the chapter devoted to U.S. technological competitiveness. He was the project manager for NSF's recently completed IT Innovation Survey and also managed NSF's 1994 pilot innovation survey of manufacturing firms.
Prior to his appointment to NSF in 1988, he worked as an international trade analyst at the U.S. International Trade Commission and as an economist at the U.S. Department of Labor.
