Kenji Kamata is a patent lawyer from Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.
He is currently working in Panasonic Patent Center based in the Washington, D.C., responsible for the management and patent procurement of US patents since 2003.
Prior to his current assignment in the U.S., he worked for about ten years as Japanese patent attorney in Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. in Osaka, Japan. He has extensive experience with patent prosecution of Japanese and international patent applications, managing the patent portfolio and advising inventors on all aspect of intellectual property law.
To date, he has received master degree in law from New York University, School of Law, and bachelor degrees in law from Kansai Univ., and in electrical engineering from Waseda Univ. in Japan.
He is admitted to practice before the Japanese Patent Office as a member of Japanese Patent Attorneys Association (JPAA), and currently a member, Standing Committee on International Patents of Japan Intellectual Property Association (JIPA).
He is also admitted to practice in the state of New York, and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and a member of the American Bar Association (ABA), and the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA).
