Mr. Desmond Hui
Mr. Desmond Hui received his BArch from Cornell and PhD from Cambridge. He teaches architecture and
is currently Director of the Centre for Cultural Policy Research at the University of Hong Kong,
consultant and advisor to the British Council Creative Industry Unit and advisor to the UN
Inter-Agency Committee on cultural industries statistics in Asia and the Pacific. He is author and
editor of several public research studies and reports and has served as advisor for various
government, public and tertiary institutions. He is Professor-designate (from January 2008) for the
Department of Cultural and Religious Studies, the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
