Monish Suvarna is the President of Intellectual Ventures India. Intellectual Ventures India’s goal is to make invention an important activity in the Indian economy by partnering with Indian institutions to build an innovation ecosystem that works in the Indian environment.

Mr. Suvarna was part of the founding team of the Intellectual Ventures Invention Development Fund (“IDF”). He also started IDF’s operations in India. He has 20 years experience working as a computer scientist and entrepreneur in both India and the United States.

Prior to joining Intellectual Ventures in 2006, Mr. Suvarna held many roles as an entrepreneur in Silicon Valley. He was a Senior Director of Data Robotics where he was part of the founding team.

Before Data Robotics, Mr. Suvarna was at BlueArc Corporation, a startup building the world’s fastest data servers, where he was responsible for building the data storage component of the MCR supercomputer at Lawrence Livermore National Labs (the third fastest supercomputer at that time).

Prior to that role he was the Chief Architect at Centigram Communications which was acquired by ADC Telecom. While there, he designed speech technology products including a text to speech engine used by Dr. Stephen Hawking.

Mr. Suvarna is a Sloan Fellow from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. He also received a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the National Institute of Technology,.
