Wubbo de Boer

Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (Trade Marks & Designs), Alicante, Spain

Wubbo de Boer, a Dutch national, has been President of the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (Trade Marks & Designs) in Alicante, Spain since October 2000.

Before coming to Alicante he has held several posts as Director General of Civil Aviation, and of Transport Policy in the Dutch Ministry of Transport. He was also Director General of Competition policy and also for Service Industry and Consumer Protection, as well as for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises in the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs.

He was born in Amsterdam in 1948, and attended Barlaeus Gymnasium and Lawschool in the University of Amsterdam where he specialised in Intellectual Property.

Other actitivities since 1982 include being Member of the Supervisory Board of NMB-Postbank, the National Railway Company, and of various organisations in the Tourist Industry, as well as being Chairman of the Amsterdam Cricket Club.
