Atul was part of the team that launched the Indian Pop music business in 1992 and has had the privilege of working with artistes like Baba Sehgal, Alisha Chinai, The Colonial Cousins, Shweta Shetty, Shubha Mudgal, Shaan and a number of others on some of their biggest hits.
Atul started his career as International Music Manager for CBS Records & Tapes (India) Limited with the high point of a one and a half year stint being the simultaneous release in India of Michael Jackson’s album “Bad”, a first for India.

In 1988 Atul was part of the team that set up Magnasound India where he held several portfolios from International Music Manager to Regional Sales & Marketing Manager before becoming General Manager and then a Director on the Company’s Board. During his ten year tenure with the company, Magnasound played the primary role in developing the Indian Pop Music market.
When EMI set up its Indian operations in 1998 in the form of Virgin Records (India) Pvt. Ltd., Atul was part of the initial team and was there till 2002 as Director A&R & Marketing.
In 2002, he joined Saregama India Limited, India’s oldest and largest music company and set up their publishing and new media divisions. He has developed a network of sub-publishers across the globe for the company as well as having set up their global digital distribution of music.

Recently he has been focused on developing collaborative projects between artistes of different countries and establishing saregama’s presence in the field of concerts.
