Yaa Attafua

Yaa ATTAFUA was born some five decades ago in Ghana. She was educated at the University of Cape Coast, Ghana and the Ghana School of Law. After being called to the bar in 1990, she had a stint of private practice with Harry and Denning Solicitors in Accra, Ghana.

She joined the Attorney-General’s Office in 1996, worked in the Registrar-General’s Department where she developed tremendous interest in Intellectual Property (IP) Law.

She has since 2003 been working in the Copyright Office and is currently the Acting Copyright Administrator. She is also the Acting Chair of the Interim Copyright Management Team (ICMT) which oversees the Copyright Society of Ghana (COSGA).
