Organized in the framework of the WIPO Development Agenda Project on Enhancing South-South Cooperation on Intellectual Property and Development among Developing and Least Developed Countries (LDCs), the Second WIPO Annual Conference on South-South Cooperation on Intellectual Property and Development represented a forum to discuss the work undertaken in the framework of the Second WIPO Inter-Regional Meeting on South-South Cooperation on Patents, Trademarks, Geographical Indications, Industrial Designs and Enforcement, which was held in Cairo, Arab Republic of Egypt, from May 6 to 8, 2013. In addition to reviewing the outcomes of the Second Inter-regional Meeting, the Conference also provided an opportunity to discuss the future of the Development Agenda Project on South-South Cooperation and the way forward with regard to South-South cooperation in the field of IP.
The Conference was open to policy makers, government officials and representatives of IP Offices from developing countries, LDCs and other interested Member States, including representatives from regional and international governmental organizations, non-governmental organizations, and civil society.
