The webinar features the Global Digital Service Data Exchange Project, an initiative of several Asian CMOs operating in the music field. The objective is to develop a solution and workflow that enables easy and efficient data exchange processes with increased speed and frequency by cross referencing the musical work codes and digital service providers’ asset identifiers, so that each CMO may receive full and accurate payment for all their repertoire used on global digital services in foreign countries.

This webinar will feature the Mechanical Licensing Collective (MLC), a non-profit Collective Management Organization (CMO) designated by the U.S. Copyright Office, and discuss how the MLC is addressing questions related to metadata. The MLC is administering blanket mechanical licenses to eligible streaming and download services in the United States, and has built a publicly accessible musical works database, as well as a portal that creators and music publishers can use to submit and maintain their musical works data.
