| English | Use of the IPC in IP Offices, in Particular Use of the New Post-Reform Features: Use of Classification Systems at the EPO Mr. Pasquale Foglia, Director, Audio/Video Media, European Patent Office (EPO), Rijswijk, Netherlands The presentation includes an overview of the use of classification systems for search at the EPO. The general methodology, valid in the majority of technical fields, is illustrated. Furthermore, some special fields are identified where search is done without classification, and where classification schemes have recently been simplified. Statistics on patent documentation and EPO Search Reports citations are presented. Some conclusions are drawn in relation to future developments in the IPC. Documento completo  1137 KB |
