The presentation gives an overview of the cooperation between WIPO and IPO of the Slovak Republic, which took place in 2010-2011, in the field of International Patent Classification. The cooperation aimed at promoting IPC for the Slovak speaking general public users and the Slovak IP office staff as well as providing for regular maintenance of the Slovak translation of the IPC more feasible, particularly after introduction of the one year maintenance period as from 2011. The presentation uncovers the situation of the IPC translation in the Slovak office before implementation of the WIPO IPC tools and outlines the course of the cooperation from its beginning to achieved results, with a summary of lessons learnt and the latest developments.
