Italy: The Decree of December 19, 2012, of the President of the Council of Ministers on the Determination in the Interest of the Right Holders of the Minimum Requirements Necessary for a Rational and Orderly Development of the Market Intermediaries for Neighboring Rights referred to in the Law No. 633 of April 22, 1941, and its Subsequent Amendments, entered into force on March 26, 2013.

It lays out the requirements and criteria for setting up collective management societies, acting as intermediaries between the right holders and the users, which allows them to take part in the management of the neighboring rights market.
