Mexico: The Decree amending Article 231, subparagraph III, of the Federal Law on Copyright was published in the Federal Official Gazette on January 13, 2016, and came into force on January 14, 2016.

The Decree amends Article 231, subparagraph III of the Federal Law on Copyright (as amended up to January 14, 2016), relating to trade-related infringements when they are engaged in for direct or indirect profit-making purposes, to include the following acts: the fixation, production, reproduction, storage, distribution, transport or marketing of copies of works, cinematographic and other audiovisual works, phonograms, videograms or books protected by copyright or related rights, without the authorization of the respective holders under the terms of this law.
