France: The Decree No. 2017-284 of March 2, 2017, on the Implementation of Articles L. 123-7 and L. 311-6 of the Intellectual Property Code was published in the Official Gazette on March 6, 2017, and entered into force on March 7, 2017. It implements Articles L. 123-7 and L. 311-6 of the Legislative Part of the Intellectual Property Code.

The Decree adds Chapters IX and X to Title II, Book III of the Regulatory Part of the Code, relating to the conditions: (i) for approval of collective management organizations in charge of droit de suite in case of absence of right holders or abandonment of their rights; and (ii) for approval of these organizations in charge of private copying remuneration on behalf of right holders.
