Namibia: Industrial Property Regulations (Regulations No. 114 of 2018)

Namibia: The Industrial Property Regulations (Regulations No. 114 of 2018) were published in the Government Gazette on July 1, 2018, and entered into force on August 1, 2018.
The Regulations implement the provisions of the Industrial Property Act, 2012 pursuant to section 236 of the said Act, which relate to, inter alia: (i) the functions and operations of the IP Office; (ii) the fees for the grant of patents and utility model certificates, and the registration of industrial designs, trademarks, collective marks and certification marks; (iii) the search and examination, the processing of international application and the opposition and invalidation of these IP rights; (iv) the filing and prosecution of appeals against the decisions from the Registrar to the IP Tribunal; (v) the registration of industrial property agents; and (vi) the terms and conditions for the appointment of members of the IP Tribunal.
