Description & claims now searchable in Chinese and Japanese

Best effort automatic OCR procedures have been applied to Chinese and Japanese applications filed in paper form and published since 1979. As a result, description and claims of these PCT applications are now searchable in PATENTSCOPE search system. Around 30,000 applications in Chinese from 1994 to 2011 and around 170'000applications in Japanese from 1979 to June 2008 are now searchable in addition to already searchable JP full-text XML applications. Furthermore, searchable descriptions and claims of applications in Korean and Portuguese are also available.
