We successfully filed a PCT application regarding development of novel functional hybrid polycarboxylate-based materials and received the international search report and written opinion from the International Searching Authority (ISA) and the international publication of our application by the International Bureau of WIPO. We entered the national-phase in Iran, and we will file the national phase application in U.S. and Turkey within the next few months.
We are committed to show the impact of the unique molecular structure of our novel matrix superplasticizers for use in coatings and next-generation green chemistry environmental additives.
The main reason why we decided to file a PCT application was that we could benefit from seeking the protection of our invention at an international level from a single application. Plus, this one application could effectively help in seeking patents in various designated countries; as we are trying to file an application in Turkey, this will eventually allow us to invest money with more security. Finally, the PCT protects our application from major errors, resulting in reducing future costs.
The most important feature of the PCT for us was the formal examination and international publication, done by the International Bureau (since we filed the application directly with the International Bureau as receiving Office). The International Search Report and Written Opinion established by the ISA had certain positive effects, as it provided us with arguments that we could decide to implement or not in how the invention was described in our application.
