PCT Information Update

International filing fee and handling fee payable in US dollars (various Offices)

On 1 December 2024, there will be changes in the equivalent amounts in USD of the international filing fee, the fee per sheet over 30, the electronic filing reductions (where applicable) listed in item 4 of the Schedule of Fees and the handling fee, as indicated in the PCT Fee Tables.

These changes have been reflected in the following annexes of the PCT Applicant’s Guide:

AM Armenia (location and mailing address)

The location and mailing address of the Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Armenia have changed, as follows:

JP Japan (national security provisions)

The Japan Patent Office (JPO) has notified changes to the IB concerning restrictions in its national legislation which are applicable when filing international applications with other Offices. Please refer to the PCT Applicant’s Guide, Annex B (JP), and the table entitled “International applications and national security considerations” at:

RO Romania (fees)

As from 1 January 2025, there will be a change in the amounts of the following fees payable to the State Office for Inventions and Trademarks (Romania) as receiving Office:

US United States of America (internet address; fees)

The Internet address at which paper copies of US patents and patent application publications cited in search reports, written opinions or international preliminary examination reports in international applications can be purchased online has changed. The new address is:

For information on the change, with effect from 1 December 2024, in the equivalent amounts of the international filing fee and the fee per sheet over 30, payable in USD to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) as receiving Office, as well as a change in the equivalent amounts in USD of the applicable filing fee reductions listed in item 4 of the Schedule of Fees, please refer to “International filing fee and handling fee payable in US dollars (various Offices)”.

The Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property (SAIP) has notified the amount which will be payable in SAR, as from 15 December 2024, for an international search carried out by it, as indicated in Fee Table I(b). The equivalent amounts of that fee in other currencies will be published once they have been established. The amounts of the following fees have also been established:

The equivalent amounts of that fee in other currencies will be published once they have been established. The amounts of the following fees have also been established:
