The World Health Organization (WHO), World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the World Trade Organization (WTO) Executive Distance Learning Course on Access to Medical Technologies and Innovation (DL-701) is open for registration until September 14, 2021. The four-week course will run from September 15 to October 17, 2021.
The DL-701 is offered at no charge as a self-study course. Participants can take the course in Arabic, English, French, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish on the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) eLearning Center.
The DL-701 course was developed by, and draws together the respective areas of expertise of, the WHO, WIPO and WTO, and is based on the 2020 edition of the trilateral study by on Access to Medical Technologies and Innovation. The course addresses the interplay of public health, intellectual property (IP) and international trade, and is aimed at technical professionals, such as patent examiners, health policymakers and their assistances, drug procurement specialists, IP specialists and senior students.
The DL-701 course is part of the trilateral cooperation between WHO, WIPO and WTO and of the technical assistance and capacity building offered under WIPO’s COVID-19 Recovery Package. Upon the successful completion of the course including the multiple-choice final exam, participants will receive a certificate of completion signed by WIPO, WHO and WTO.
