Decisive Meetings of WIPO Assemblies

The meetings of the Assemblies of the 171 Member States of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) will be held in Geneva from September 7 to 15, 1998.

The meetings will be held at the International Conference Center of Geneva (CICG) from September 7 to 11 inclusive, during which time the delegates will be accommodated in a spacious conference hall. There will be a cyber-corner at their disposal with several workstations and Internet access. There will also be a press office reserved for journalists.

On September 14 and 15 the meetings will be held at the Headquarters of WIPO, in the main building. The discussions will be on general policy issues including budgetary matters, the need to extend the premises and possible constitutional reform. The problems raised by the growth of electronic marketing will also be broadly covered.

All the documents concerning the discussions of the Member States will be available on the WIPO Internet site, http://www.ompi.int.
