Meet Lalao-Elina Razanadriaka, the founder of the Madagascar publishing house “Mpariaka Boky”, which means books that scatter, that spread. She loved books from a young age, always advocated for access to learning, but wondered how to make a career shift to start her own publishing business. In 2019, she traveled to Morocco through a WIPO Publishers Circle’s training to learn the skills for success in the publishing industry. Now “Mpariaka Boky” has published 18 books from local writers, supporting the growth of literature and the creative sector in Madagascar.
