Launch of the Global Design Database
January 9, 2015
WIPO today launched a new online tool offering innovators the ability to search industrial designs registered in countries around the world. The new Global Design Database is free of charge and publicly available on the WIPO website.
Initially including 185,000 records, the Global Design Database enables simultaneous search across the international industrial designs registered under the WIPO-administered Hague System as well as the national collection of industrial design registrations of Canada. The Database will continue to expand as more national collections are added in the coming months.
WIPO also announced that its Hague Express searchable database has been updated with new technology to offer users improved, detailed views of industrial designs registered internationally under the Hague System.
