Unveiling of Customized WIPO IP Diagnostics Tool for India
September 3, 2024
The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), in partnership with the Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs, and Trade Marks of India, has adapted the WIPO IP Diagnostics tool to the Indian legal and procedural framework.
This software-based tool enables small businesses to conduct a self-assessment of their intellectual property (IP) assets, providing guidance tailored to the Indian IP laws and procedures and enriched with local examples. It covers a comprehensive range of IP issues relevant to the Indian context, including patents, industrial designs, trade secrets, trademarks, copyright, and geographical indications.
By answering targeted questions, Indian small businesses can generate customized reports that offer insights into how India's IP system can support their strategic business objectives. The tool is currently available in English, Bengali, Hindi, Tamil, and Urdu.
